Xiaomi SU7 Ultra vs Tesla Model S Plaid: Is Tesla Finally Beatable?

On paper, both cars offer incredible performance, but real-world drag races often come down to traction, battery temperature, launch control and how consistently each car can deliver maximum power.

Tesla Model S Plaid

  • Powertrain: Triple-motor electric drivetrain
  • 0–60 mph (0–100 km/h): ~2.0 seconds
  • Quarter mile: Around 9.2 seconds in real-world tests
  • Strength: Instant torque and consistently impressive acceleration

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra

Xiaomi may be best known for smartphones and consumer electronics, but the SU7 Ultra is built with one goal in mind: challenging the world's fastest electric performance cars.

With massive power, advanced battery technology and an aggressive performance setup, it has quickly become one of the most talked-about new EVs on the market.

What could decide the winner?

  • Power-to-weight ratio. More power isn't always enough if the car carries extra weight.
  • Traction and launch control. Getting off the line cleanly can decide the race within the first few metres.
  • Battery temperature and power delivery. EV performance can vary depending on battery condition and thermal management.
  • Aerodynamics. At higher speeds, efficiency and drag become increasingly important.
On paper, the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra has everything it needs to challenge the Tesla Model S Plaid. But specifications don't always tell the whole story.

Can Xiaomi finally dethrone Tesla in a straight-line drag race, or is the Model S Plaid still the benchmark? Watch the video and let us know which car impressed you the most.

One drag race is always entertaining, but I'd love to see several consecutive runs. Consistency under repeated hard launches often tells you much more than a single result.
