I was thinking about this after seeing how many different humanoid and service robots are now being developed.
If robots eventually become common in workplaces and homes, how are we actually going to charge all of them?
Right now it seems like every manufacturer can basically have its own charging or docking solution. That's probably fine when you only have one type of robot, but what happens when a warehouse, business or even a home has robots from several different companies?
EVs went through a similar problem with different connectors and charging networks. I wonder if robotics will eventually need some kind of common charging standard too.
Maybe we'll end up with universal docking stations, wireless charging areas, or even battery swapping for robots that need to keep working.
Do you think robot charging will eventually become standardized, or will every manufacturer just stick with its own system?
