The 2025 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 S is one of those cars that looks incredible on paper.

Over 400 horsepower, aggressive styling, advanced technology, and performance that would embarrass many sports cars from just a few years ago.

The bigger question is whether it still feels special once the novelty wears off and you're dealing with real-world ownership, maintenance costs, rough roads, and the growing complexity of modern performance cars.

That's where things often become much more interesting than the spec sheet.

Summary

The 2025 Mercedes-AMG CLA 45 Hybrid delivers impressive performance, advanced technology, and a level of efficiency that would have seemed impossible in an AMG just a few years ago.

But as with many modern performance cars, the real ownership experience is often defined by the things that don't appear on the specification sheet.

For current Mercedes-AMG owners, what has been the biggest surprise after a few years of ownership: reliability, maintenance costs, technology issues, or something else entirely?

The performance numbers are impressive, but I've noticed that many luxury performance cars end up being judged by things that never appear in a brochure.

On previous CLA and AMG models, owners have reported issues ranging from MBUX glitches and random sensor warnings to rattles from the frameless doors and surprisingly expensive wheel damage from everyday potholes.

What's interesting is that none of those things affect the headline performance figures, yet they're often what owners remember most after a few years.

For current AMG owners, which issue has been more frustrating in the real world: reliability problems or simply the cost of keeping everything working as intended?
