The CX-30 e-Skyactiv-X is the stylish one with low consumption

Hello

The car has a clean design that almost surrounds the driver. It’s enjoyable to drive, but the gearbox takes some getting used to since it has a very short throw. It has a lot of torque, but there's a torque dip between 1,000 and 2,500 RPM. The power steering doesn't provide any assistance at low speeds, so you have to drive slower than usual and turn the wheel like crazy to take tight corners.

Even after nearly a year, I haven’t been able to find a comfortable seating position. Something always feels off—either my back, knees, or ankles start hurting. It’s difficult to find the ideal posture.

At low RPMs, the car lacks torque, but in return, it consumes very little fuel. My summer average fuel consumption was 5.6 L/100 km. However, above 3,000 RPM, the torque kicks in—along with a bigger appetite for fuel.

The suspension feels a bit stiff for my taste. Lowering the factory tire pressure from 2.5 bar to 2.3-2.4 bar makes it more comfortable, but then the tires wear out faster on the edges. That said, the suspension is excellent—it keeps the car firmly planted on the road, and you never feel like it’s going to slip away in corners.

The controls are well-placed, except for the climate buttons, which feel poorly thought out. The infotainment screen could be larger, especially for the reverse camera display. Water collects on the lower rubber seal of the rear windshield, and due to the car’s aerodynamics, the rear end is always dirty—even with mud flaps.

Other than that, I can't find any negatives. This is the best car I've ever owned, and I highly recommend it. Compared to this, other cars just feel like abstract sculptures that merely resemble automobiles.

Issue list

The seat heating sometimes turns on randomly in summer, even when the comfort mode (temperature-dependent automatic seat heating) is switched off.
