The new Solar Hyperion pushes electric scooter performance into motorcycle territory, with a claimed top speed of 65 mph (104.6 km/h) and dual high-output motors.

Key Features:

Performance: Equipped with dual 3,500W motors peaking at 4,500W each, the Hyperion targets a top speed of 65 mph (104.6 km/h).
Battery and Range: Powered by a 72V 40Ah Samsung battery, it offers a range of up to 70 miles (112.65 km) per charge when maintaining a speed of 30 mph (48.28 km/h).
Design and Build: The scooter features a CNC aluminum folding chassis, balancing durability with portability.

Suspension and Tires: It boasts an adjustable hydraulic suspension system and offers 11-inch tire options for a smooth ride.
Load Capacity: Designed to accommodate riders up to 330 pounds (150 kg).
Charging Time: The battery charges fully in approximately 7-9 hours.

Price and Availability: Priced at $3,299, the Hyperion is available for order through Solar Scooters' website.

Considerations:

While the Hyperion offers impressive specifications, potential buyers should consider local regulations regarding high-speed electric scooters and ensure they have the necessary experience to handle such a powerful vehicle safely.

If you had the budget, would you choose something like the Hyperion, or would you rather buy a motorcycle instead?

The performance looks impressive, but I think the real question is this:

At what point does an electric scooter stop being a scooter and start becoming a motorcycle without the same level of safety?

I'd love to hear from owners who've spent real time with high-performance scooters. Has the extra speed actually changed the way you ride, or is it mostly something you enjoy knowing is there?
