The 2024 Vauxhall Corsa Electric has undergone a significant update, making it a strong contender in the electric supermini market. It now features a new 51kWh battery, providing a substantial range increase to around 248 miles. The car is available in three trims—Design, GS, and Ultimate—with the latter offering a more powerful 156hp motor. While the exterior design has been refreshed, and the infotainment system has been upgraded to a 10-inch screen, the interior still feels somewhat underwhelming, especially compared to rivals like the Peugeot e-208.

Driving the Corsa Electric is quite similar to its petrol counterpart, which makes it an easy transition for those new to EVs. The ride is comfortable, and the handling is competent, although it doesn't match the fun factor of some competitors. Pricing is a potential sticking point, starting at £32,445 and reaching nearly £40,000 for the top spec, which is considerably higher than the petrol version.

Despite these challenges, the Corsa Electric offers practicality with its improved range, decent standard equipment, and straightforward driving experience. However, its high price and uninspired interior might make some potential buyers hesitate, especially when considering other options in this segment.

For those looking for a no-nonsense entry into electric driving with a reputable brand, the Vauxhall Corsa Electric could be a solid choice, though it may not win over everyone, especially those looking for a bit more excitement or luxury in their drive.
