Discussion 1,000-mile road trip with a Toyota RAV4 Hybrid – real-world experience

We traveled to Canada, specifically to Montreal, with my wife’s two-year-old Toyota RAV4 Hybrid, and during the trip we needed more than just a routine stop – an oil change was essential because we were covering long distances.

At first, the service did not want to take the car, saying they had no time, even though the workshop appeared mostly empty with several free service bays. Communication was also challenging, as they were unwilling to speak English. Only after my wife managed to say a few words in French did they finally agree to do the oil change.
In the end, the service itself was completed properly and professionally.
My wife’s Toyota RAV4 Hybrid performed exceptionally well throughout the trip. Even while traveling with two large dogs and a fully loaded vehicle, fuel consumption remained excellent at around 39–43 MPG (US). After driving nearly 1,000 miles, we stepped out of the car without back pain or fatigue, which really highlights how comfortable this vehicle is for long-distance travel.

Overall, a mixed experience: solid technical service and an outstanding vehicle, but customer communication and flexibility could be improved.
