It’s an electric family hatchback that promises a bit of sporting edge, and it’s hoping to compete with alternatives like the VW ID.3 and Hyundai Ioniq 5.And at a glance, the Born certainly looks sportier than the ID.3, with its huge roof spoiler and distinctive side skirts! Up front it has a much sharper face than the ID.3, too, and there are some striking copper-coloured accents for a bit of extra visual wow factor. The Born arguably looks cooler than the ID.3 inside the cabin, as well. It comes with suede-effect upholstery and body-hugging seats that hold you snugly in place around corners. You get a 12-inch infotainment system on the dash with some sharp-looking graphics and plenty of tech, but the accompanying touch sensitive controls are a bit of pain to use. There are two battery options for the Cupra Born. The 50kWh battery has a claimed range of 260miles, and should take 9 hours to charge using a 7kW wall charger. The bigger 77kWh battery pack, meanwhile, comes with a range of up to 340miles and takes 12 hours to charge.
