The Verne concept taxi, introduced by the newly established Verne brand, represents a cutting-edge approach to urban autonomous mobility. Here are some key aspects of the Verne concept taxi:
Overview
Design and Features

Passenger Comfort: The vehicle is designed to accommodate two passengers in a luxurious environment. It features reclining seats, a 43-inch dashboard screen, and a 17-speaker sound system. Passengers can customize various interior settings to enhance their travel experience.
Autonomous Technology: The Verne taxi leverages Mobileye's advanced autonomous driving platform, Mobileye Drive™, which incorporates a comprehensive suite of sensors, including cameras, radar, and lidar. This technology ensures the vehicle can navigate complex urban environments safely and efficiently.

Operations and Deployment

Initial Launch: The service is set to begin in Zagreb, Croatia, by 2026. Verne has also secured agreements to expand to 11 additional cities, with ongoing negotiations in over 30 cities worldwide.
Service Model: The Verne concept taxi will operate as an app-based service, allowing users to book rides and customize their travel preferences before the vehicle arrives. This system aims to offer a highly personalized and convenient urban transportation solution.

Technological Integration

Mobileye Partnership: The collaboration with Mobileye, a leader in autonomous vehicle technology, is central to Verne's capabilities. Mobileye's platform provides the necessary computational power and sensor integration to handle the demands of autonomous driving in diverse and dynamic city environments.
Mothership System: Verne's centralized maintenance and management system, known as the Mothership, ensures that the fleet of taxis remains in optimal condition, with regular updates and maintenance checks to enhance reliability and safety.

Vision and Impact

Urban Mobility Transformation: Verne aims to revolutionize urban mobility by offering a sustainable, efficient, and luxurious alternative to traditional taxis and ride-sharing services. The autonomous nature of the taxis reduces the need for human drivers, potentially lowering operational costs and increasing accessibility.
Sustainability: By promoting electric autonomous vehicles, Verne contributes to reducing urban emissions and traffic congestion, aligning with broader environmental goals.

Additional Information

Founders and Team: Verne was founded by Mate Rimac, along with colleagues Marko Pejković (CEO of Verne) and Adriano Mudri (Chief Design Officer at Verne), who also designed the Rimac Nevera.
