I want to have a real talk about reliability, because everyone keeps saying EVs are simpler to maintain, but my experience has been a bit of a mixed bag.
Sure, I don’t have to deal with oil changes or spark plugs anymore, but the software glitches and minor sensor issues have been driving me crazy lately. Every time there’s a new over-the-air update, I’m honestly a bit nervous that something which worked perfectly before will suddenly break.
Just last week, my backup camera stopped working for two days for no obvious reason, then magically fixed itself after a hard reset. It really feels like we’re driving computers that happen to have wheels, and sometimes the tech is just too clever for its own good.
I’m curious how others are experiencing this. Are your EVs living up to the reliability promise, or are you spending more time at the service center than you expected?
