I think the Chery Tiggo 7 Pro PHEV actually looks really good, and on paper the specs and features seem strong too. The main question is not how it looks, but how reliable it will be after 2–3 years, especially the hybrid system, electronics, and overall service support.
As far as I know, there are no major well-known common faults yet, but that’s also because it’s still relatively new and long-term ownership data is limited. And about the US market: it’s not really sold there, but that’s more about tariffs, regulations, and politics around Chinese cars than the car being automatically bad.
Compared to the BYD Sealion 6, I’d say BYD may have the edge in hybrid/EV experience, while Chery looks competitive on design, features, and value. So for me, the real deciding factors would be reliability, parts availability, warranty, and dealer support not just the spec sheet.
